Being “Forever Flexible”

An Interview with Anna McNulty

I can’t believe it!!! The day has finally come that we can announce an amazing collaboration with the talented Anna McNulty! Don’t let her sweet personality fool you, this Canadian girl is an absolute powerhouse and is taking the internet by storm. Anna’s sweet nature, her classic style and love for flexibility made her the perfect person to team up with for this collaboration. “Forever Flexible” designed by Anna McNulty is inspired by her own style and love of flexibility. Something this girl knows ALOT about! Stay tuned for the launch of this absolutely gorgeous piece of jewellery. For now, here are a couple of sneak peak pics and an interview with Anna herself describing her amazing journey and the inspiration behind her design.

1. At only 17, you have already completed some incredible accomplishments. How would you describe your own journey up to this point?

     I am from a small town in New Brunswick, Canada where I am currently in grade 12 attending a local public high school. When I was 10 years old I started cheerleading, which is where I discovered my love for stretching and flexibility. 

     A few years after starting cheer I began posting flexibility photos and videos to Instagram for fun. As more people began to follow my Instagram, they started requesting for me to show how I became so flexible. At the time, Instagram only allowed you to post 15 second videos, which is why I decided to post my flexibility tutorials on YouTube instead. Since then, my YouTube channel has gown to over one million subscribers. It is still crazy for me to think about because it is just so much more than I ever anticipated! It just stated as something fun to do in my spare time. I am continually working on growing my YouTube channel. I am so grateful that social media has given me the amazing opportunity to travel, create my own activewear, and now my own piece of jewellery! Even though I don’t know them all personally, all of my subscribers are close to my heart. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to do what I am doing. This is a big reason why I incorporated a heart into my necklace design.

2.Tell us something we don’t know about you that might surprise us?

My favourite TV show is Shark Tank and I have watched every episode. One day I would like to go on it with my own business!

3. You have a lot of followers who are inspired by your incredible flexibility. What is your biggest tip/technique for athletes who want to improve their flexibility.

  My number one tip for others who want to improve their flexibility is that consistency is key! If you can find time to stretch every day it will become simply a part of your daily life, which will lead to great results!

4. Do you have any quotes or mottos you try to live by?

    “If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.”

5. If I was a genie in a bottle and could grant you one wild and crazy wish what would it be?

 If I had one wish it would be for unlimited wishes because there are so many people that I would love to be able to grant a wish to as well.

6.You chose a very specific pose to draw inspiration from for your design, without hesitation if I remember correctly. Why did you choose that particular pose for your design inspiration for “Forever Flexible”?

   I chose the needle because it is my favourite flexibility pose! I can still remember the first time I did it. I was at cheer practice and they asked me to do a scorpion and everyone was shocked that I was able to straighten my leg all the way. Ever since then, I’ve always loved the pose.

7.  At Rhythm, we believe jewellery is more than just jewellery. It can represent your love and passion for something. It can be a reminder of what your priorities and purpose are going to be that day. When people wear your design, what do you hope it represents and speaks for them?

 When others wear my necklace I hope it inspires them to never give up on their goals. With hard work and dedication they can achieve almost anything!
